Luanda – The Executive Committee of the SADC Parliamentary Forum (FP/SADC) evaluated on Friday the impact of the organisation’s budget for the financial year from April 2023 to March 2024, aimed to cover mainly the operating expenses of the ‘organisation.

The PF/SADC Executive Committee also appreciated the funding provided by donors which is becoming increasingly scarce due to the collapse of major economies caused by Covid-19 and the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia.

As a result, these facts cause massive global inflation.

Angola participated  in Friday’s meeting, held in virtual format, from Johannesburg (South Africa), with a delegation led by the National Assembly Speaker, Carolina Cerqueira.

The event deliberated that the budget for the financial year 2023/2024 should ensure that the activities of the Forum are carried out within the limits of the funds from the assessed annual contributions and retained earnings, with a minimum of in-kind contributions from member Parliaments .
