Seychelles President Danny Faure urges the nation to remain united on the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of Independence.

The Seychelles today celebrated the 43 thanniversary of their independence , which took place on 29 September 1976.

On this occasion, Seychelles President Danny Faure declared that Independence Day had become a holiday, celebrated by all Seychellois.

President Faure paid tribute to all those who fought for the independence of Seychelles.

“As we celebrate our independence , we must take a moment to remember what the generations before us have accomplished, to achieve the country ‘s independence, ” said President Faure.

It has only been in recent years that Seychelles celebrates Independence Day , before the country celebrated June 18 on Constitution Day.

“We have to seize opportunities, for more progress, for ourselves, for our family for our country,” said Faure.

In the late afternoon, there will be the military parade with the presence of foreign soldiers.

The guest of honor this year is St. Vincent and the Grenadines Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves.
