Accra: The founder of The Intelligent Lady, Princess Sekyere Bih, has been named among the 100 Most Influential Women in Africa at the fourth edition of the African Women Awards held in Kigali, Rwanda. The recognition highlights her contributions to womens empowerment, leadership development, and community transformation across the continent. Princess Bih dedicated the honour to the women and girls whose experiences shape her work.

According to Ghana News Agency, Princess Bih stated, This recognition is not mine alone; it belongs to the remarkable women whose courage, creativity, and resilience continue to inspire the stories we tell through The Intelligent Lady Magazine, the accomplished and aspiring young women in our Network, and the adolescent girls we nurture and train through our Academy. Her work began in 2010 with a mission to support young women, particularly undergraduate students, to transition into the corporate environment through mentorship and leadership development.

That initiative later e
volved into The Intelligent Lady ecosystem with the launch of The Intelligent Lady Magazine in 2017, The Intelligent Lady Network in 2018, and The Intelligent Lady Academy in 2021 in Ghana and Lesotho. Ms Bih said the brands mission remained centred on supporting women and girls. She emphasised: Our mission has always been simple yet powerful to inspire and equip women and girls with the skills, confidence and opportunities to lead, innovate and transform their communities. From the classrooms of Ghana to the mountains of Lesotho, Ive seen firsthand that when women and girls are empowered, nations are strengthened.

The African Women Awards, founded by The Business Executive Group, celebrates women of African descent who have demonstrated excellence in governance, entrepreneurship, and social impact. It also honours those in the public service, creative industries, finance, technology, and development.

The 2025 edition was held under the theme Empowering Heritage, Elevating Futures, Uniting African Women f
or Sustainable Progress, and brought together female leaders, ambassadors, heads of state, and other dignitaries. Princess Bih expressed gratitude to her team, mentors, partners, and the young women who motivate her work, reaffirming her commitment to advancing womens leadership and societal progress.
