ATAD Marks 25 Years of Community Development Efforts in Koulse

Sandbontenga: The Technical Alliance for Development Assistance (ATAD) organized an accountability day in Kaya on Tuesday, under the chairmanship of the Governor of the Koulse region, Colonel-Major Z. Blaise Ouedraogo, and in the presence of His Eminence Cardinal Philippe Ouedraogo, Honorary President of the said Alliance.

According to Burkina Information Agency, ATAD President Constant Zango reported that over the past 25 years, the Alliance has initiated 272 projects across six regions in Burkina Faso: Centre-North, the Sahel, the Plateau-Central, the North, the Centre-East, and the Boucle du Mouhoun. These projects, which focus on areas like food security, nutrition, education, humanitarian aid, social cohesion, peace, and combating gender-based violence, have benefited over 3 million people with approximately 30 billion CFA francs mobilized.

“These results are the fruit of hard work, a strong partnership with the authorities, technical and financial partners, but above all the trust of the communities,” said Mr. Zango. The event fostered constructive dialogue between ATAD, its partners, and the beneficiary communities, and addressed future challenges and opportunities. Certificates of recognition were presented to partners who significantly contributed to the organization’s objectives.

The Governor of the Koulse region, Colonel-Major Z. Blaise Ouedraogo, commended ATAD’s adaptability to social, economic, and security changes, emphasizing its focus on people-centric initiatives. He noted that the accountability day exemplified ATAD’s transparency and maturity, while also highlighting the necessity to remain vigilant against risks of illicit financing.

ATAD officials conveyed that the organization plans to extend its activities beyond its current regions and possibly internationally, continuing its mission of sustainable development and community support.
