Bogodogo Hospital Launches Open Days to Enhance Health System Resilience


Ouagadougou: The Bogodogo University Hospital Center (CHU-B) has commenced its Open Days and Excellence Days in a bid to increase its visibility and effectively address the health needs of the community. The event emphasizes the hospital’s commitment to humanized care and the resilience of the health system.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Director General of CHU-B, Seydou Nombre, highlighted the significance of collective responsibility in the healthcare sector. Speaking at the CHU-B premises, Mr. Nombre underscored the importance of placing patients at the center of the hospital system, viewing them as individuals with dignity, history, and expectations.

Mr. Seydou noted that the ongoing challenges, including pandemics, security crises, and economic constraints, necessitate a resilient health system capable of innovation and progress. He expressed hope that the event would serve as both a discovery for participants and a commitment to enhancing the health system’s performance for the benefit
of the population.

Dr. Amadou Dicko, the Minister Delegate for Animal Resources, representing the Minister of Agriculture, emphasized that health is a strategic investment essential for a strong society. He honored healthcare professionals for their dedication and silent contributions to safeguarding public health.

Adama Luc Sorgho, Minister of Infrastructure and Access to Landlocked Areas, remarked on the collective requirement for health. He stated that the Open Days offer a platform for dialogue and building an inclusive and accessible health vision for all.

During the event, CHU-B recognized outstanding personnel from 2023 and 2024, along with retiring officers, acknowledging their contributions to the hospital’s success. The two-day event features activities such as free medical consultations and screenings for various cancers, under the chairmanship of Dr. Robert Lucien Jean Claude Kargougou, Minister of Health and Public Hygiene.
