Massive turnout at King Paluta’s Germany and Italy concerts


Rising music sensation King Paluta delivered a masterclass performance during his recent concerts in Germany and Italy.

The New Artiste of the Year nominee at this year’s Ghana Music Awards embarked on a Europe music tour over the weekend, with fans trooping to the venues.

After his dazzling performance at the ‘Accra in Dsseldorf’ concert, the music prodigy jetted off to Italy for his second concert.  

The turnout at the Italy concert was impressive, as was the musical performance by King Paluta, who is undeniably the hottest Ghanaian musician now.

During the concert, the Kumasi-based singer and rapper thrilled music fans with some trendy songs, including ‘Yahitte,’ ‘Sika Aba Fie,’ and ‘Aha Kye.’ 

But it was the ever-banging ‘Aseda’ hit song that captured the hearts of the patrons as they sang the lyrics of the song from start to finish.

The versatile act has made significant strides in his career, headlining both local and international shows.

King Paluta, who grabbed four nominations at this year’s G
hana Music Awards, is highly tipped to win the prestigious New Artiste of the Year.

Sista Afia returns with ‘2 Things’ party anthem featuring Amerado


Award-winning songstress Sista Afia has dropped her highly anticipated single ‘2 Things,’ featuring Amerado.

The ‘2 Things’ masterpiece showcases Sista Afia’s unique vocal prowess and talent, making her one of the top female musical talents in Ghana.

Award-winning rapper Amerado, who has been in red-hot form in the music industry, drops some mind-blowing lyrics on the ‘2 Things’ track.

According to Sista Afia, the ‘2 Things’ track is one of the tracks from her upcoming album, which she plans to release later in the year.

Speaking about the song, Sista Afia disclosed that she was thrilled to feature Amerado, whom she considers a top talent.

Sista Afia stated that the song is a hypnotic blend of Highlife music and Afrobeats sounds, capturing scenes of real-life happenings, especially for the underprivileged.

This could be one of the biggest tunes of the year from the sensational vocalist, as she continues to thrill music lovers with her infectious rhythms.

Tamale to host Cultural Oneness Festival


Tamale, the Northern Regional capital, is to host this year’s edition of the Cultural Oneness Festival to champion cultural diversity and unification of the African people both home and in the diaspora.

The Cultural Oneness Festival, scheduled for November 13 – 16, will involve cultural tours to, especially tourist sites in the northern part of the country, and cultural fusing durbar with chiefs and people.

It will also feature a street carnival together with exhibition and a business forum to empower the youth in entrepreneurship, fashion show and will be climaxed with a musical concert.

It is organised by The Taste of Afrika on the theme: ‘Leveraging Our Strength for Shared Growth and Prosperity’.

This year’s event is the second in the series after the first one was held last year.

Chief Sung-Naa Martin Chris Glin, Co-Founder/Chairman, The Taste of Afrika, at a media briefing in Tamale, said the Cultural Oneness Festival sought to unite all Africans both home and the diaspora.

He said it was also to e
mpower the population, especially the youth, and inspire entrepreneurship and education to create sustainable income.

Mr Tengol Kplemani, Co-Founder/Chief Executive Officer, The Taste of Afrika, urged members of the public to ‘Come out, let’s unite. Let’s build ourselves. Let’s get to know each other and let’s make our communities better for ourselves now and for future generations.’

KODA’s life in a minute


Kofi Owusu Dua Anto, born December 15, 1978, and known as KODA, is a Ghanaian gospel singer, songwriter, record producer and multi-instrumentalist from Takoradi.

KODA fell in love with musical instruments at a tender age, and the mother enrolled him in a music class at the age of ten, where he developed his skills to play the guitar.

He went to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where he became the mass choir director of the university.

KODA was also the Music Director and Instrumentalist of the ‘Music Wing of Baptist Students Union’, ‘KNUST’s Simply Jazz Crew’, ‘God’s Instruments’ and a leading member of ‘Da Project’ which was a legendary Ghanaian contemporary gospel group.

After tertiary education, he co-wrote, mixed, mastered and produced the exceptional album, ‘Awurade Ei’ for KNUST’s ‘God’s Instruments’ at KODED studios, Takoradi, Ghana.

The album received massive recognition in the country. It had great hits such as ‘Awurade Ei (Se Woma Wonsa Soa), ‘Tumi’ and ‘Onyame Ye
D’awase’.

He also worked on Nii Okai’s ‘Moko Be’ and ‘Gye W’ayeyi’ albums which actually blew him up as a producer.

KODA has worked with many gospel artistes in and out of Ghana including the likes of Nii Okai, Pastor Joseph Gyebi, Danny Nettey, Pastor Joe Beecham, Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Joyful Way Inc., Pastor Helen Yawson, Yaw Osei-Owusu, Ike Nanor, Eugene Zuta, Jesse Jenkins, Diana Hamilton, Calvis Hammond among others.

‘The Anointed’ is a music group formed by KODA and his friends based in Takoradi. The group has supported many gospel ministries in the country and overseas.

KODA currently has four vocal and two gospel jazz albums to his credit. ‘Nyame Beye’ which is the first and ‘Waye Wie’ which had hits including ‘Waye Wie’, ‘Zion’s song’, ‘Poma’, ‘Amen’ and others.

His third album ‘Black and White’ had many hits like; ‘Guide Me O’, ‘Nkwa Abodoo’, ‘Obiara Nte Se Wo’, including the controversial single, ‘Nsem Pii’. His latest project, released in 2016, is ‘OXYGEN’ containing hit songs like ‘
Adooso ‘ , ‘Yaa Pae’, ‘Chimo’.

As a music tutor, he released a two instructional DVD on bass and lead guitar and also 3 live DVDs of his major concerts; ‘KODA live 2008′, Black and White live 2013’ and ‘Oxygen Live 2016?.

KODA is married to Mrs. Ewurama Dua Anto also an anointed singer with an album to her credit. They currently have two sons and a girl.

He was reported to have died after a short illness in the early hours of Sunday, April 21, 2024.
