Kadiogo: Ministry of Economy and Finance Provides Over 25 Million FCFA for Faso Mebo Initiative

Kadiogo: The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) handed over a large batch of materials worth more than 25 million CFA francs to the Faso Mebo Presidential Initiative on Tuesday, an act marking the department’s patriotic commitment to this citizen development initiative. This donation was offered by the Secretary General, Vieux Abdoul Rachid Soulama, who led a large delegation.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the MEF’s contribution, the result of a voluntary effort by its entire staff, includes 110 tons of cement, a concrete mixer, 472 molds, 440 tons of granite, and 43 shovels. In addition, 30 tons of cement were previously donated, bringing the Ministry’s total donation to 140 tons of cement, in addition to other equipment.

“Beyond our daily mission of budgetary and public finance management, it was important to show that we are also committed to supporting Faso Mebo. We want, through this gesture, to demonstrate our patriotic duty and support an initiative that is already transforming the face of our cities,” said the Secretary General of the Ministry, Vieux Abdoul Rachid Soulama.

According to him, this donation was not decided unilaterally. “We took care to discuss with Faso Mebo officials to identify priority needs. It is on this basis that we chose to diversify contributions between cement, molds, and equipment,” he explained.

The Ministry welcomes the already visible impact of the initiative on the ground, particularly in several arteries of Ouagadougou, now paved and cleaned up.

“This project is changing the face of our streets and directly contributing to national development,” said Mr. Soulama, who promised that the department would continue its support for these types of initiatives.

The MEF also called on other citizens and institutions to follow in its footsteps, believing that Faso Mebo is an Initiative serving the nation, which “has already proven itself” and deserves increased support to sustainably improve the living environment.
