Kampti: The final demobilization of the Kampti National Police, recently transferred to Gaoua, was a poignant event, underscored by recognition and gratitude. Two officers and the police commissioner were honored for their service, prominently including Staff Sergeant Naba Paul HIEN, who was commended for his exemplary commitment and unwavering dedication to the community.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Staff Sergeant HIEN, who joined the Kampti police station on September 15, 2021, from Bieha in the Sissili province, distinguished himself through his professionalism and his close rapport with the local population. As a field police officer, he adeptly balanced authority with attentive listening in a challenging security environment.
Demonstrating a strong commitment to collective welfare, HIEN initiated workshops in mechanics, welding, and carpentry to aid the social reintegration of young people facing difficulties. His efforts have enabled more than fifty children to return to school or start a professional activity. Among his notable achievements was the arrest of illegal gold miners degrading the RN12 near Yolonhira on June 12, 2025, an action officially recognized with a congratulatory letter from the municipality. The police commissioner and Officer Ouattara received similar accolades.
The police commissioner remarked, “Naba Paul HIEN embodies the sense of duty and dignity of the police force. His concrete actions strengthen trust between the police and citizens.” Massahiba Aime SOULAMA, the prefect and president of the special delegation of Kampti, echoed this sentiment, stating that the distinction reflects the gratitude of the entire commune, highlighting that discipline does not preclude humanity.
Mohamadou NEBIE, a resident of Kampti, paid tribute to HIEN’s character, noting, “What is impressive about Staff Sergeant HIEN is not only his rigor but also his consistency. He acts quietly, but always with impact. In an often difficult environment, he has managed to make people love the police where it was sometimes feared.” In response to the accolades, HIEN humbly stated, “I consider this recognition as an encouragement to serve even better. The trust of the people is our greatest reward.”
The demobilization of the National Police in Kampti concluded on a note of pride and hope, epitomized by the journey of Sergeant-major Naba Paul HIEN, a testament to a uniform devoted to serving the people.
