Nahouri: The Minister of Health inaugurates the new infrastructure of the CMA of Po. The Minister of Health, Robert Lucien Jean-Claude Kargougou, along with the Minister for Basic Education, Jacques Sosthene Dingara, officially inaugurated the new infrastructure of the Medical Center with Surgical Unit (CMA) of Po.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the inauguration event took place on Friday, October 24, 2025, marking the completion of a project entirely funded by the state’s budget. The new infrastructure aims to enhance the quality of healthcare services provided by the medical center. During a tour of the facilities, which included the maternity unit, pediatric unit, and morgue, Minister Kargougou expressed satisfaction with the quality of the work. He highlighted the importance of these modern facilities in offering improved care, particularly to women and children, and reiterated the government’s commitment to equipping the center with necessary additional resources.
Minister Jacques Sosthene Dingara, a native of Nahouri, expressed pride in the government’s efforts. “These achievements reflect the government’s strong desire to improve the well-being of the entire population of Nahouri,” he stated. Dr. Boukare Wanre, head of the health district, assured the government that the new infrastructures would be well-maintained with the support of local authorities.
The government’s initiative underscores its commitment to providing equitable access to quality healthcare for all Burkinabe citizens, contributing to a resilient and inclusive health system. The construction of these facilities commenced in 2017 and faced several interruptions before reaching completion. Prior to the inauguration, the government delegation paid a courtesy visit to the traditional chief of Po, who expressed gratitude for the government’s efforts in transforming the CMA.
