Two Cameroonians have featured among a gang of four individuals arrested for robbing the Adamawa State Commissioner of Environment, Muhammed Sadiq Wali.
The gang of four, comprising of two Cameroonians and two Nigerians were arrested on Monday, February 13, 2024, after successfully executing their robbery operation on the previous day.
‘The criminals had broken into the commissioner’s residence at about 11:00 pm on Sunday after he had watched the Nigerian Super Eagles loss of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) to Ivory Coast,’ Sahara Reporters described the robbery scene.
The suspects were identified by the spokesperson for the police in the state, SP Suleiman Nguroje as ‘Mustapha Muhammed, 47yrs, a resident of lelewalji, Girei Local Government Area of Adamawa state; Isha Adamu, 55 years, a resident of Tudun Wada, Sokoto State; Salihu Buhar, 38years, a resident of Garoua, Cameroon Republic and Abdullahi Abubakar, 35years, a resident of Garoua, Cameroon Republic’.
According to the spokes
person, the gang was arrested thanks to a combined team of police operatives from the Girei Divisional Police Headquarters.
All the items stolen by the gang at the State Commissioner’s residence were recovered in the course of the operation. The gang of four on their part will be prosecuted in the days ahead.
