Nine Immersion Students Deferred in Banwa Patriotic Program

Banwa: Nine high school graduates from Banwa province were deferred among the 160 participants in the first edition of the compulsory patriotic immersion program, which concluded in Solenzo under the chairmanship of Babo Pierre Bassinga, the governor of the Bankui region.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the program initially expected 162 high school graduates at the Solenzo center, but only 160 appeared. Among these, nine were deferred, including one due to illness, two who were pregnant, and six who were breastfeeding children under two years old. These individuals will have the opportunity to resume the program in the future when conditions are more favorable.

In total, 151 immersion students, including 61 young girls, completed a month-long program centered on patriotism, communal living, African values, and integrity. The closing ceremony included sketches, slam performances, and demonstrations of Rapid Operational Intervention Techniques (TIOR), which captivated the audience.

Souleymane Lamizana, the delegate of the participants, commended the presidential initiative for transforming participants into patriots ready to promote national values. Governor Bassinga, while congratulating the students and their supervisors, emphasized that the values learned will benefit themselves, their families, and the nation as a whole.

The event concluded with a tree planting ceremony and the presentation of helmets to social leaders to encourage the mandatory use of helmets in the region. The patriotic immersion in the Bankui region involved 14 sites and engaged a total of 4,419 participants.
