Popular Cross-Country Race Unites Defense Forces and Civilians in Kourittenga


Kourittenga: A popular cross-country race aimed at strengthening ties between the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and civilians was chaired by the High Commissioner of Kourittenga Province, Moctar Ilboudo, on Thursday, September 4, 2025, in Koupela. The event was organized at the Bank of Africa branch in Koupela with the goal of consolidating collaboration between the army and the population.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the event on Thursday morning saw civilians and various FDS units actively participating in a civil-military cross-country race and an aerobics session. The High Commissioner, Moctar Ilboudo, expressed satisfaction with the strong turnout, emphasizing the importance of sports in fostering unity and collaboration.



Moctar Ilboudo remarked on the role of sports in uniting civilian populations and the FDS, highlighting the successful demonstration of unity in Kourittenga and across Burkina Faso through the race. He extended his gratitude to the participants and acknowledged the Bank of Africa branch in Koupela for their hospitality during the event.



Aboubakar Kader Ouattara, head of the Bank of Africa branch in Koupela, also expressed his appreciation for hosting the event, viewing it as a valuable contribution to strengthening community ties. He thanked the High Commissioner and participants for choosing their premises for this collaborative activity.
