Ouagadougou: The President of Faso, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traore, presided over the opening ceremony of the 15th edition of the National Forum for Scientific Research and Technological Innovations (FRSIT) in Ouagadougou. The event, held under the theme “What contributions can technologies, inventions and innovations make in a context of reviving industrialization?”, runs from October 22 to 26, 2025.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the presence of Captain Ibrahim Traore at this ceremony marks a significant first, as he aims to motivate the research community to invest their inventions, innovations, and technologies towards the development of Burkina Faso, which is currently undergoing a revolution. In his address, Captain Traore commended researchers, teacher-researchers, inventors, and innovators for their contributions despite facing challenges.
The leader of the People’s Progressive Revolution also praised the efforts made in scientific research and technological innovation, noting the visible achievements in these fields. He reiterated his commitment to supporting the implementation of ideas and knowledge that benefit Burkina Faso and encouraged Burkinabe citizens to intensify their efforts in invention, research, and innovation.
The Republic of Mali is the guest of honor for this edition of FRSIT. Official delegations from Niger and Togo are also in attendance, highlighting the regional collaboration and exchange of ideas in scientific research and technological advancements.
