Djelgodji: Twenty internally displaced women and hosts received weaving training thanks to the partnership between the Djibo town hall and the Sahel Community Recovery and Stabilization Project (PCRSS). After two weeks of training, these women are now ready to take on the challenge of consuming locally, particularly through the production of Faso danfani in the province of Djelgodji.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the President of the Special Delegation of the commune of Djibo, Hubert Drabo, plans to strengthen the capacities of the beneficiaries and facilitate their access to the necessary resources, with a view to promoting viable and sustainable businesses. Djeneba Idrissa, a representative of the beneficiaries, expressed her satisfaction with the training and emphasized the importance of support from authorities to ensure the sustainability of their achievements.
The women are requesting the support of the authorities for the establishment of training centers, the provision of suitable equipment, as well as capacity building, in order to better support their professional integration. The training, provided by the Provincial Coordination of Women’s Organizations of Soum (CPOFS), has been a significant step in empowering these women.
According to CPOFS representative Haoua Tao, this training will allow women to use their time usefully and develop income-generating activities. At the end of this training, the beneficiaries now intend to proudly dress the populations of Djelgodji with beautiful woven loincloths, entirely designed in Djibo.
