Guiriko: The Bobo-Dioulasso Court of Appeal has officially welcomed Zakaria Bandaogo as its new Deputy Public Prosecutor. Bandaogo, a magistrate of the 2nd grade, 3rd echelon, was formally installed in his new role during a hearing held in the court’s courtroom on Friday, October 24, 2025.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Zakaria Bandaogo’s appointment was made on October 2, 2025. He steps into his role with a commitment to work alongside the Attorney General at the Bobo-Dioulasso Court of Appeal, aiming to deliver fair and patriotic justice. Bandaogo has expressed his dedication to the mission, promising to serve with diligence.
In addition to his judicial career, Bandaogo is known for inventing Razball, a sport created in Burkina Faso in 2021, and is the author of the book “La Barque du destin,” published in January 2022. His multifaceted background brings a unique perspective to his new position.
The ceremony also saw the installation of seven new advisors to the Court of Appeal, bolstering its personnel. These advisors include Mr. HIEN S. Florent, Mr. OUATTARA S. Ismael, Mr. WOBA Moukaila, Mr. PODA P. Baudoin, Mr. OUEDRAOGO W. Romuald, Mrs. WANGRAWA Zalissa, and Mr. KABORE Samuel, who have previously held significant judicial positions.
Attorney General Poulme Poda expressed his satisfaction with the new appointments, highlighting the urgent need for additional staff due to existing shortages. He noted that the arrival of the new advisors is timely and essential for the efficient functioning of the court, which often sees councilors participating in multiple chambers.
Mr. Poda emphasized the importance of the installation ceremony as an opportunity to introduce the new magistrates to both authorities and citizens, allowing them to commence their duties with a clear mandate. He encouraged the new appointees to demonstrate resilience and dedication in fulfilling the expectations of the Burkinabe people.
