Adriano de Carvalho announces new projects in the area of ??roads

Several projects linked to the roads sector, with emphasis on the road section that connects the municipalities of Mbanza Kongo and Cuimba, over a distance of 62 km, will begin to be executed in the coming days, in the province of Zaire.

The announcement was made by the first provincial secretary of the MPLA in Zaire, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, when he was speaking at the opening session of the first ordinary meeting of the JMPLA Provincial Committee, which took place this Wednesday in the city of Mbanza Kongo.

According to the party leader, the rehabilitation of the Mbanza Kongo/Cuimba/Buela road, the latter a border town with the DRC, has already been authorized by the President of the Republic and work is currently underway on administrative issues to start the project.

It should be noted that the town of Cuimba is the only one that is not yet connected to the capital of the province of Zaire (Mbanza Kongo), by a paved road.

The politician also spoke about the start, next week, of works to accommodat
e traffic on the road that connects the city of Mbanza Kongo to the commune of Kaluka, a route of approximately 92 km.

‘The Mbanza Kongo/Kaluka road is in an advanced state of degradation. We want to reverse this situation as quickly as possible to facilitate the movement of people and goods,’ said the governor of the province of Zaire.

Adriano Mendes de Carvalho also informed the young people from the MPLA youth wing in the region about the start, at the end of this year or at the beginning of 2025, of the rehabilitation works on the Zaire/Uรญge road, passing through the commune of Madimba, municipality of Mbanza Kongo, as well as the road that gives access to the commune of Kindege, in Nzeto.

Led by the first provincial secretary of the JMPLA in Zaire, Isaac Marciano Ntiama, the meeting reviewed issues related to the internal life of this youth organization of the ruling party in Angola, as well as elected the new members of the provincial secretariat, for the 2024/2029 term.

The event took place under t
he motto: ‘JMPLA, for the country at the service of youth’.
