Maseru: The Lesotho National Assembly has reconvened for the Ninth Meeting of the First Session of the Eleventh Parliament, marking the end of its winter recess. The assembly is set to tackle a heavy legislative agenda, which includes the consideration of several Bills and reports from Parliamentary Committees.

According to African Press Organization, the Clerk of the National Assembly, Adv. Lebohang Maema, Kings Counsel (KC), highlighted the significant workload awaiting the assembly. Among the critical items on the agenda are the Water Resources Management Bill, the Tax Administration Bill, and the operationalisation of the 10th Amendment to the Constitution Act, 2025. Adv. Maema emphasized the importance of addressing these key legislative issues as the assembly resumes its duties.

The National Assembly had adjourned in June 2026 for the winter recess, and its return signals a crucial period for legislative activities, with several important measures still pending finalization.
