Basketball: Edmir Lucas signs for Interclube

Angolan forward Edmir Lucas and former England’s London Lion club has returned to the country to represent the Interclube senior men’s basketball team, last championship runners-up.

The 29-year-old has a valid contract with the “police force” until next May.

The 1.93 cm tall power forward is the last player to bolster Interclube for the final phase of the national championship to start on March 27 with the clash of the quarter-finals against Casa do Pessoal do Porto do Lobito.

Edmir, who has already represented 1 º de Agosto and Petro de Luanda, returns with the mission of helping his new team to win the title.

The athlete, who has an average 12 points per game, was part of the national team that played the qualifiers for the world championship in China in 2019, later sidelined by injury.

This is the third reinforcement presented by the club, after Emmanuel Quezada (point guard) and the American power forward Xavier Gibson.

Interclube face Atlético Sport Aviation Wednesday in the semi-finals of the Angola Basketball League Cup.
