Vodacom Group Names Mohamed Abdallah as CEO of International Markets and Vodafone Egypt

Johannesburg: Vodacom Group has announced the appointment of Mohamed Abdallah as the Chief Executive Officer of its International Markets and Vodafone Egypt. This strategic move marks a significant step in Vodacom's efforts to streamline its operations, promote strategic growth, and enhance customer experiences as part of its Vision 2030 goals. According to African Press Organization, Mohamed Abdallah, who is currently the CEO of Vodafone Egypt, will take on a broader regional leadership role. His new responsibilities will include driving growth and operational excellence across Vodacom's International Markets, which encompass Egypt and other African countries such as the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Lesotho, Mozambique, and Tanzania. This expanded role aims to unify these markets under a single leadership framework to achieve Vodacom Group's strategic objectives. Shameel Joosub, CEO of Vodacom Group, commented on the leadership change, highlighting Mohamed's extensive experience and successful t rack record in achieving strong commercial outcomes. He expressed confidence that Mohamed's leadership would be crucial in scaling Vodacom's international portfolio and implementing a purpose-driven strategy across Africa. Joosub also extended gratitude to Diego for his significant contributions over the past seven years, wishing him well in his future endeavors. Mohamed Abdallah expressed his enthusiasm for his new role, emphasizing his commitment to enhancing connectivity and innovation to empower individuals and businesses throughout Africa.
