According to African Press Organization, the United States is set to provide Lesotho with $7 million to enhance its health system and promote self-reliance. This funding is part of the Faith and Community Initiative (FCI), which aims to transform U.S. foreign assistance into a strategic investment for Lesotho's health sector.

The initiative will focus on integrating HIV and Maternal and Child Health (MCH) services through local solutions, with $5 million allocated for HIV programming and $2 million for MCH services. These funds will be delivered via a network of faith-based partners led by World Vision. The approach leverages the trust and reach of faith-based and community organizations to deliver quality healthcare closer to the communities they serve. By combining efforts to address HIV, TB, and MCH through these community platforms, the FCI aims to empower local health workers and pave the way for Lesotho's sustainable health development.
