Ouagadougou: Dr. Nestorine Sangare, former Minister for the Promotion of Women and Gender, and a lecturer and researcher at Joseph Ki-Zerbo University, delivered an impactful speech at the Faso Mªbo holiday camp in Ouagadougou. As the guest speaker for the camp's second wave, she focused on instilling values among the young campers.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Dr. Sangare, who is also a gender expert, emphasized the importance of integrity, a key characteristic of the Burkinabe identity. She advised the campers that integrity involves honesty, truthfulness, and a strong work ethic. "A person of integrity must not steal, must not cheat, must not be dishonest, must not cover things up. He must tell the truth," she stated.
Dr. Sangare highlighted additional values essential to being Burkinabe, such as humility, love for one's neighbor, and patriotism. She expressed pride in her heritage and encouraged the campers to contribute to nation-building. "I am proud to be Burkinabe and I love my country," she said, urging the campers to develop a deep love for their homeland and commit to its development.
The former minister concluded by motivating the participants to stay in Burkina Faso and work towards its progress. "Let's stay in our country, let's cultivate love for our homeland, let's work to build our country! You are at the Faso Mªbo summer camp to learn how to build this country," she advised, leaving a lasting impression on the young audience.
